HARARE - The Right2Know Campaign has called on South African Minister of International Relations Maite Nkoana-Mashabane to respond to the political crisis in Zimbabwe and to use every avenue available to stand up for the rights of Zimbabwean citizens.
The campaign says the South African government needs to take direct action and send messages of solidarity with protesters in Zimbabwe.
Earlier this week Zimbabweans across the country held a nationwide stay-away.
Demonstrators are demanding that the government take action on the burning issues of poverty, wage disputes and corruption.
Right2Knows’ Murray Hunter says the suspension of internet services is indicative of a regime losing its grip.

“It’s important that we do whatever we can as democratic South Africa to stand up for the rights of Zimbabwean citizens simply to organise themselves politically.”
