El Rufai    Governor of Kaduna, El Rufai

Premium Times reports that Jacob Dickson, a reporter with an online news platform, Authentic News Daily, was allegedly arrested by the police and charged to the Kaduna Magistrates Court for writing about the Kaduna state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Dickson was allegedly charged for incitement for reporting that youths in a particular community threw stones at El-Rufai when he visited the area.
You will recall that the minister for information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed said the Buhari led administration will ensure an enabling environment for press freedom.
Robert Mahoney, the Deputy Executive Director of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), has also called on the Nigerian Government to drop the charges against Dickson.
Mahoney said “President Muhammadu Buhari should not let state officials make a mockery of his laudable commitments to press freedom even as he utters them.
“We call on state officials to drop the charges against Jacob Onjewu Dickson and release him without delay.”
El-Rufai is not a stranger to controversy, the issues just seem to stick to him, pray this is one of his ‘political sons’ doing this without his knowledge.
The authenticity of the story reported by Dickson has also not been confirmed, as Pulse is in contact with his employers
