JOHANNESBURG - The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) has urged motorists to stay away from the N3 as snowfall is reported in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, with temperatures dropping below zero degrees.
Thank you to Snow Report SA and to the community for your co-operation.
The N3TC has asked motorists not to go snow watching, as this compounds the problem and diverts emergency services away from critical activities.
It says it’s likely that local residents and travellers may be snowed in as roads are closed for safety reasons.
The organisation’s Con Roux says, “We have people coming up from Maritzburg and they’re going up to Midlands to snow watch. They’re stopping on the side of the road and it’s creating absolute havoc down there. We make a strong appeal to motorists to please stay away.”
Please do NOT head out to go snow-watching in the Midlands. An extremely dangerous situation is being created.

: Backroads in Nottingham Road are dangerously log jammed due to snow watchers. Please AVOID area.
