Mrs Okeke during the recital could not recite the last stanza of the National Anthem but was aided by Senator James Manager, a member of the committee. She was the first nominee to be screened out of the 47 ambassadorial nominees.
However, the nominee said that the three major changes that should be made should include fighting corruption, insurgency and diversification of the economy. She also said that returns should be received when the country puts in effort.
Mrs Okeke however said the country should look into the area of financing and salary payments. “There is also an issue with financing. “Some of these embassies do not get their salaries for four months. “They are supposed to be in line with the protection of this country,” she said.
Following her screening was Enoch Parduchi, one of the nominees who was asked how many states there were in the country. He was also asked to mention ten states which he did correctly. At the time of this report, the screening of the ambassadorial nominees is still ongoing.
